We are a family owned, Family operated, Beef cattle operation. We raise beef for sale as freezer beef. We sell whole , by 1/4 or by 1/2. All of our animals are humanly raised. These animals are pasture raised. We take pride in our animals that we raise. Our animals come from our farm or other local family farms.
The property that we currently operate on was purchased by my Dad (Ray Shifflett) and my Brother (Mike Shifflett) in 1987. Candice and Wes purchased part of the property in January 2018 to begin to raise cattle for beef production. When Candice and Wes met, He would bring water from a well on the property home for drinking water. The water tasted so much better than municpal water, so it was said this was Sweet Water, so that is where the name Sweet Water Farms came from.
Currently our cattle are born and raised on site, or they come to us as soon as they are weaned from family farms in the local area that we hand pick. This allows us to know when the cattle are born, and how they are raised before receiving them, unlike cattle that come from a sale barn and there is no background information to how the animal is treated and fed. We take pride in how we treating our animals the best way we can.
